Turns out pymel for python 3 was installed with maya2022 install but not pymel for python 2 and it is required for the plugin to work correctly so after installing this it works fine and i uninstalled my maya 2020 version because this plugin and Vray were the two i need to work in 2022 and they are both ok it seems.
